PortaOne Settles Marshall Phone Card Patent Spat

Law360, New York (January 20, 2010, 12:53 PM EST) -- Marshall Patent Holdings LLC has settled with the final defendant, software company PortaOne Inc., in of its lawsuits over two patents related to prepaid phone cards.

Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas signed off on the stipulated dismissal with prejudice on Tuesday, ending the suit against three software companies and a Voice Over Internet Protocol telephone service provider.

The motion cites a confidential settlement agreement that Marshall and PortaOne reached on Dec. 30.
