Ex-Chief Economist Heads Compass’ Way

Law360 (December 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Not content with employing only three former chief economists at the U.S. Justice Department, economic consulting firm Competition Policy Associates (Compass) has hired a fourth, University of California at Berkeley professor Richard J. Gilbert.

Gilbert, who started at the FTI Consulting Inc. unit around Dec. 1, will continue teaching at Cal, but he will also devote a substantial amount of his time to consulting.

“I was looking for a firm that combined intellectual excellence with an exciting work environment,” Gilbert said.
