Judge Tells Lerach Coughlin To Pay Up

Law360 (December 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In an unusual twist, a federal judge has ordered famed plaintiffs’ firm Lerach Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP to pay the attorneys’ fees of Alliance Capital Management LP, the target of a recently dismissed $1 billion class action lawsuit brought by Enron Corp.’s shareholders.

U.S. District Judge Melinda Harmon issued her decree in a Houston court last week, tossing out the case against the investment firm and former Enron underwriter, now known as AllianceBernstein LP.
