Judge Halts Duties On Chinese Carbon Makers

Law360, New York (January 22, 2010, 4:54 PM EST) -- A federal judge has blocked the U.S. from collecting duties on activated carbon exported by five Chinese companies while the exporters litigate their challenge to an anti-dumping decision.

In an order issued in the U.S. Court of International Trade Wednesday, Judge Jane A. Restani granted the companies' motion to immediately enjoin the U.S. Department of Commerce and Customs and Border Protection from liquidating all entries of the companies' product while they are involved in a suit against the government.
