Khanjee Wins Stay Of Enviro Fines Over Power Plant

Law360, New York (January 21, 2010, 3:09 PM EST) -- A judge has partially granted Khanjee Holding (U.S.) Inc.’s request to stay roughly $500,000 in fines and fee awards the company was assessed in November for trying to build a power plant in Illinois without a proper environmental permit.

Judge J. Phil Gilbert of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois on Tuesday granted Khanjee’s motion for a stay insofar as the monetary portion of the judgment was concerned. He denied the motion in all other respects that it sought relief.
