Appeals Court Sides With Calif. County In Union Spat

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 6:56 PM EST) -- A California appeals court has upheld a ruling that Santa Clara County officials did not break the law in efforts to negotiate with unions of county employees and to defeat a ballot initiative by the unions mandating binding arbitration.

The California Court of Appeal for the Sixth Appellate District on Friday said a lower court's determinations were supported by the evidence and affirmed a judgment in favor of the county.
