Ex-Assistant Manager Hits CVS With Overtime Action

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 2:51 PM EST) -- A former CVS Caremark Corp. employee in Massachusetts has launched a proposed collective action against the drugstore chain, claiming the company failed to pay assistant store managers overtime.

Former assistant manager Shawn Griffith lodged a complaint on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, alleging that the drugstore misclassified assistant managers as exempt from overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state labor laws.
