Weight Watchers Faces Wage-And-Hour Action

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 2:13 PM EST) -- Weight Watchers International Inc. has been hit with a proposed collective and class action from employees who claim the weight loss giant failed to pay them for work they did organizing member meetings.

In a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, Eileen Hanson-Kelly and Sara Jackson alleged that Weight Watchers and its affiliates effectively denied leaders and receptionists the minimum wage in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the North Carolina Wage and Hour Act....
