Barrick Asks Court To Keep Cortez Mine Open

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 5:39 PM EST) -- Mining company Barrick Gold Corp. has asked a district court for a limited injunction allowing it to keep working on its Cortez Hills mining project in Nevada while the U.S. government conducts further environmental reviews, which a federal appeals court ordered last year after hearing a challenge to the project by a group of Indian tribes.
