Merger Guidelines Gaps Should Be Fixed: Varney

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 7:27 PM EST) -- The merger review guidelines U.S. antitrust authorities follow may need to be tweaked in order to close gaps between how the agencies describe their process and what they actually do during the course of a merger review, Christine Varney, head of the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, said Tuesday.
