Call Center Worker Hits Unitrin With OT Action

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 7:02 PM EST) -- A former Unitrin Inc. call center worker has filed a putative collective action accusing the insurance company of shortchanging its employees on overtime pay.

Plaintiff La Shawn Mealing lodged the complaint Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, asserting the Chicago-based insurer violated and recklessly disregarded the Fair Labor Standards Act and a Pennsylvania minimum wage law.
