Ex-Atty Demands $30M From Howrey In Race Bias Suit

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 2:55 PM EST) -- Howrey LLP has been hit with a $30 million lawsuit from a former associate at its Brussels office who claims the firm mistreated and ultimately fired her because she is black.

Jamaican-born Kamisha Menns filed the complaint against Washington-based Howrey in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on Wednesday.

Menns says she was lured to the firm from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP’s D.C. office after meeting several Howrey managing partners at an antitrust conference.
