Ex-McKool Smith Patent Atty Forms Mediation Practice

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 7:14 PM EST) -- After years of litigating cases in the patent-heavy Eastern District of Texas, a former McKool Smith PC litigator has struck out on his own to launch a national practice focused on mediation of patent disputes.

Gary Kitchen, a business executive-turned-patent litigator, announced his new practice on Wednesday. He left McKool Smith last year after about 10 years with the law firm — prior to that, he worked at AT&T Inc. — to focus on what he sees as a niche market.
