Florida Condo Loses Appeal Of Adjuster Fee Ruling

Law360, New York (January 28, 2010, 6:02 PM EST) -- A Florida condominium development that suffered more than $127 million in hurricane losses has failed to overturn a ruling requiring it to pay insurance adjuster’s fees, despite arguments that the adjuster breached its contract and contributed to the losses.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit issued a ruling on Wednesday affirming decisions that led a jury to award about $1.4 million in fees to adjustment firm Goodman-Gable-Gould Co.
