Lyondell Examiner Has Done Enough: Court

Law360, New York (January 28, 2010, 3:43 PM EST) -- Saying no cause exists to expand the duties of the examiner in Lyondell Chemical Co.’s Chapter 11 proceedings, a bankruptcy court has denied a motion by the unsecured creditors committee to further probe Lyondell’s proposed rights offering.

Bankruptcy Judge Robert E. Gerber explained his conclusion in an order entered Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, saying examiner Jack F. Williams “has completed the investigation previously approved by the court.”
