Uniloc Units Strike Again Over Anti-Piracy Patent

Law360, New York (January 28, 2010, 2:54 PM EST) -- Two subsidiaries of Australian technology security company Uniloc Corp. Pty. Ltd. have accused a second batch of U.S. companies of unlawfully co-opting an anti-piracy patent that covers systems and methods for securely registering software and other digital media.

Argus SoftwareInc., HumanConcepts LLC, Real Software Inc., BCL Technologies and Alien Skin Software LLC are among the 13 companies named in the complaint, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas by wholly owned Uniloc subsidiaries in the U.S. and Singapore.
