CIT Shoots Down US Steel Cos.' Duties Challenge

Law360, New York (January 28, 2010, 2:36 PM EST) -- Quashing a challenge from U.S. steel producers, a federal judge has backed a U.S. International Trade Commission decision that revoking duties on imports of hot-rolled steel from Argentina, Kazakhstan, Romania and South Africa would not materially injure the American market.

Judge Gregory Carman of the U.S. Court of International Trade on Wednesday found that the ITC's review had been backed by good evidence that the domestic market would not be subject to a flood of foreign imports.
