Apple May Face IPad Trademark Fight With Fujitsu

Law360, New York (January 28, 2010, 6:21 PM EST) -- Apple Inc.’s planned launch of its new iPad tablet computer may spark a legal fight with Fujitsu Ltd., which already has applied for U.S. trademark rights to the name for use with its hand-held computer, according to a news report.

Apple unveiled on Wednesday that it is gearing up to sell its 9.7-inch touch-screen computer in March, but Fujitsu’s 2003 application for the iPad trademark may throw a wrench in its plans, according to a report by The Financial Times.
