Allow Corporate Counsel To Tattle, Group Says

Law360, New York (December 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In-house counsel should be allowed to report fraud at their companies to regulators, according to a group of New York City Bar Association lawyers.

The Task Force on the Lawyer’s Role in Corporate Governance has recommended that New York State amend its rules of professional conduct to exclude the reporting of corporate fraud from the regulations governing attorney-client privilege.
