EU Reviews Offers In Airline Alliance Probe

Law360, New York (February 1, 2010, 5:14 PM EST) -- British Airways PLC, American Airlines Inc. and Iberia LAE SA have offered the European Commission commitments aiming to address competition concerns over the carriers' agreements to jointly manage some routes between the U.S. and Europe, the watchdog said Monday.

The commission is "assessing the effectiveness" of the proposals as it continues to review the airlines' bid to to have their trans-Atlantic Oneworld Alliance declared immune from antitrust laws.
