Importers Join Duty Feud Over China's Fasteners

Law360, New York (February 1, 2010, 1:22 PM EST) -- A number of leading screw and bolt importers have intervened in Nucor Corp.’s lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Commerce, opposing claims that China’s currency manipulation calls for countervailing duties on the country’s exported metal fasteners.

On Friday Judge Evan J. Wallach of the U.S. Court of International Trade allowed XL Screw Corp, The Hillman Group, Bossard North America Inc. and Heads & Threads International LLC to join as defendants in Nucor’s lawsuit over Commerce’s decision not to initiate a countervailing investigation of China-made metal fasteners....
