La. AG Wants Vioxx Suit Returned To State Court

Law360, New York (February 1, 2010, 5:41 PM EST) -- As an April trial date nears, Louisiana's attorney general is urging the federal judge overseeing the Vioxx multidistrict products liability litigation to remand one lawsuit back to state court.

In a motion filed Friday seeking expedited consideration of an October 2005 bid to remand the suit, Louisiana Attorney General James Caldwell asked the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana to send the case back to state court because discovery and other pretrial matters have concluded.
