Crucible's Coverage Claims Against Lloyd's Tossed

Law360, New York (February 3, 2010, 6:26 PM EST) -- A federal judge has dismissed claims against certain underwriters at Lloyd's of London brought by now-defunct Crucible Materials Corp. in a protracted battle stemming from environmental claims over an excess liability policy issued in 1968.

Judge David N. Hurd of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York on Tuesday signed off on an order dismissing with prejudice Crucible's claims against its second-layer excess insurers for declaratory judgment and breach of contract related to liability for environmental cleanup costs at two locations....
