Calpine To Construct First-Ever Plant With GHG Limits

Law360, New York (February 5, 2010, 3:04 PM EST) -- Calpine Corp. has received final regulatory approval for a 600-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant in Northern California that will be the first power plant in the United States with a federal limit on greenhouse gas emissions.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District, acting under the oversight of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, granted a prevention of significant deterioration, or PSD, permit to Calpine on Wednesday, according to the power company.
