Sunoco Told To Refile Bid To Trim Philly Oil Plume Suit

Law360, New York (February 5, 2010, 12:58 PM EST) -- A federal judge has denied Sunoco Inc.'s bid to pare the U.S. government's claims in a suit alleging one of the company's refineries caused an oil plume to spread under Philadelphia, ruling that a 2003 settlement must be weighed along with other facts in the case.

Judge Anita B. Brody in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania denied Sunoco and Atlantic Richfield Co.'s motion for summary judgment on the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency's claim under the Uniform Contribution Among Tortfeasors Act....
