SEC Probes Demands On AIG By Goldman, Others

Law360, New York (February 8, 2010, 4:15 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is reportedly examining payment demands that prominent firms, including Goldman Sachs Group Inc., made on American International Group Inc. as the mortgage market was imploding in 2008.

According to an article in The New York Times on Sunday, the SEC wants to know whether any demands on the insurance giant made by Goldman and others could have improperly distressed the mortgage market.
