LG Electronics Sues Whirlpool Over Washer Patents

Law360 (May 19, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Korean conglomerate LG Electronics Inc. has fired another legal volley in its patent battle with Whirlpool Corp., suing the U.S. rival for allegedly infringing LG's washing machine patents.

LG Electronics filed its lawsuit Tuesday in U.S. District Court in New Jersey, alleging Whirlpool infringed several patents, including one for technology that helps prevent clothes from being twisted together inside the washing machine.
