MasTec Installers Forced To Arbitrate OT Claims

Law360, New York (February 9, 2010, 5:09 PM EST) -- A federal judge has ordered two MasTec Services Co. Inc. satellite installers to individually arbitrate their claims in a putative class action accusing the company of failing to pay proper overtime.

Judge Patrick Michael Duffy of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina on Friday granted MasTec and its customer DirecTV Inc.'s joint motion to compel arbitration and stay proceedings pending the outcome, ruling that MasTec's dispute resolution policy governs the plaintiffs' claims.
