NYC Files Antitrust Suit Vs. Glaxo Over Paxil Patents

Law360, New York (May 19, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The City of New York has filed a lawsuit against U.K. drug maker GlaxoSmithKline PLC, claiming that the company engaged in "anticompetitive, fraudulent, and inequitable conduct" when it acquired patents for its anti-depressant Paxil.

The complaint claims seeks repayment of the millions of dollars the city has spent purchasing Paxil for New York residents through the Medicaid program.
