Texas Cos. Clash Over Oil Extraction Patents

Law360 (December 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Two Houston, Texas-based companies have squared off in court over three patents involving the extraction of oil from beneath the sea floor, with the plaintiff seeking treble damages and injunctive relief.

FMC Technologies Inc. filed the infringement lawsuit against Vetco Gray Inc. on Thursday. Both companies’ products include a variety of systems for mining underwater oil.
