Toyota Seeks To Toss Suit Over Accelerator Recalls

Law360, New York (February 10, 2010, 5:25 PM EST) -- Toyota Motor Corp. has asked a federal court to dismiss a proposed nationwide class action over Lexus and Toyota vehicles prone to sudden acceleration, saying the car owners who brought the suit have no standing.

The Japanese carmaker filed a motion Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California saying the plaintiffs have not suffered the injuries necessary to pursue the case under the California Unfair Competition Law.
