Gunman Was Told Invention "Wouldn't Fly"

Law360 (December 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- While Chicago investigators search for clues about a truck driver who killed three people at an IP boutique last week, details have emerged about an invention the gunman thought would make him rich, but instead drove him to murder.

The gunman, Joe Jackson, repeatedly told family members and friends his idea for a semi-truck toilet had been stolen by patent attorney Michael R. McKenna, who was killed during Jackson’s high-rise shooting spree on Dec. 8.
