Rio Tinto Workers Hit With Chinese Bribery Charges

Law360, New York (February 10, 2010, 5:03 PM EST) -- An Australian and three Chinese employees of British-Australian mining conglomerate Rio Tinto are reportedly facing bribery and trade secrets infringement charges in a Chinese court.

The four Rio Tinto employees — Stern Hu, an Australian and the former head of Rio Tinto's Shanghai office, and three local employees, Wang Yong, Ge Minquang and Liu Caikui — were indicted by the No. 1 branch of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate on Wednesday, according to the Chinese state-run Xinhua News Agency.
