ITC Asked To Review Changes To US-Bahrain FTA

Law360, New York (February 17, 2010, 3:17 PM EST) -- U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk has asked the International Trade Commission to weigh in on possible changes to the U.S.-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement regarding the rules of origin for combed cotton yarns used in home furnishings.

Kirk said in a Feb. 12 letter to the ITC that trade negotiators have reached an agreement in principle with Bahrain to modify the agreement to account for the fact that neither country can produce the yarns in commercial quantities in a timely manner.
