GE, EPA Settle CERCLA Claims Over NM Plant

Law360, New York (February 18, 2010, 2:36 PM EST) -- General Electric Co. has agreed to pay the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency $300,000 to end a dispute over cleanup cost reimbursements at a Superfund site in Albuquerque where GE owns an aircraft engine plant.

GE will pay $257,670 to the EPA's Hazardous Substance Superfund in reimbursement of past response costs and $71,715 in reimbursement of future response costs, according to a consent decree approved in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico on Wednesday.
