Class Action Accuses Tyson Foods Of Violating FLSA

Law360, New York (December 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Meat giant Tyson Foods Inc. has been served a proposed class action lawsuit alleging the company violated federal law by refusing to pay employees at a Georgia processing plant for the time they spent putting on and taking off their mandatory protective gear.

The suit, filed on behalf of three named plaintiffs and those similarly situated, was filed in federal court in Georgia on Monday, and accuses Tyson of running afoul of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
