Medtronic Units Infringed Interpore Cross Patent, Court Finds

Law360, New York (May 25, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two Medtronic units infringed a patent held by Interpore Cross International for spinal implant polyaxial screws, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California has ruled.

The court found that Medtronic Sofamor Danek, Inc. and Medtronic Sofamor Danek USA, Inc. are infringing U.S. Patent No. 5,474,555 (the "'555 patent"). The '555 patent is owned by Interpore Cross' wholly-owned subsidiary, Cross Medical Products, Inc.
