Ex-Client Wants Fish & Richardson Off Internet IP Suit

Law360, New York (February 19, 2010, 4:51 PM EST) -- Openwave Systems Inc. has asked a federal judge to prohibit Fish & Richardson PC from representing the software company's target in an infringement suit over mobile Internet access patents, arguing that the boutique firm served as its intellectual property counsel for seven years.

Openwave filed a motion Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California seeking to disqualify Fish & Richardson from representing 724 Solutions (US) Inc., a software company that Openwave has accused of infringing eight patents.
