LA Seeks To Hose Down Rookie Firefighters' FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (February 23, 2010, 4:49 PM EST) -- Los Angeles officials have moved to pare down a collective action accusing the city's fire department of violating federal wage-and-hour laws by failing to pay probationary firefighters for work done off the clock, calling the case a "minor train wreck."

In a pair of motions filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the city asked the judge to decertify the plaintiff class and grant partial summary judgment on a slew of the firefighters' claims.
