Importers Urge Full Review Of Chinese Furniture Duties

Law360, New York (February 24, 2010, 5:43 PM EST) -- Three U.S. importers have submitted a letter to the U.S. International Trade Commission urging a full sunset review of anti-dumping duties on Chinese wooden bedroom furniture, saying revoking the duties would have no impact on U.S. importers because many now get those products from Vietnam instead.

The importers also accused the U.S. petitioners, a trade association, of engaging in an unfair system of private settlements with Chinese exporters that allows the petitioners to get furniture at cheaper prices, according to the letter, sent to the ITC...
