NYC Store Owner Cheated Workers On Wages: Cuomo

Law360, New York (February 24, 2010, 6:43 PM EST) -- New York state prosecutors are seeking about $1.5 million in back wages and damages from David Cohen, owner of seven New York City clothing stores, who they accuse of withholding wages from about 150 workers.

Cohen was arrested Tuesday, and faces both criminal charges and a civil complaint, according to New York Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo.

Cuomo alleges that since at least 2004, Cohen's employees have regularly worked 10- to 11-hour days, six days a week, without being paid for any overtime beyond 40 hours...
