EU Targets Auto Parts Makers In Antitrust Probe

Law360, New York (February 25, 2010, 1:45 PM EST) -- European Commission officials have raided several auto parts suppliers as part of an antitrust probe into a suspected cartel in the automotive electrical and electronic components sector, the commission confirmed Thursday, as reports surfaced regarding similar raids of auto parts makers by U.S. antitrust authorities.

The EC did not disclose which companies were under investigation, noting that the raids are an early stage of a probe and do not indicate that the firms are guilty of anti-competitive conduct.
