Coke Plants Used Violence On Guatemala Union: Suit

Law360, New York (February 26, 2010, 1:41 PM EST) -- The Coca-Cola Co. is facing a lawsuit alleging the company's bottling and processing plants in Guatemala unleashed a violent campaign that included rape and murder to intimidate union leader employees and their families.

The suit, filed Thursday in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, says the global soft drink company is responsible for murder and other forms of brutality carried out by two bottling and processing plants in Guatemala to scare workers from union activity.
