Class Certification Sought In BP Gas Royalties Action

Law360, New York (March 1, 2010, 1:25 PM EST) -- A group of plaintiffs has moved for class certification in a lawsuit accusing the U.S. arm of energy giant BP PLC of breach of contract for withholding royalties on natural gas sales.

In a motion filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, the plaintiffs argue that the class certification issues in two earlier cases are identical to those in the current matter, and that those classes were certified.
