Coudert Bros. Administrator Blasts Statek $85M Appeal

Law360, New York (March 3, 2010, 3:17 PM EST) -- The plan administrator overseeing Coudert Brothers LLP's dissolution has blasted Statek Corp.'s appeal of a bankruptcy judge's rejection of an $85 million claim over allegations that the defunct law firm breached its fiduciary duty in representing two individuals who looted the company in the 1990s.

In a brief filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Development Specialists Inc. called Statek's appeal a “creative attempt” to get around a bankruptcy judge's ruling that its claims against Coudert were time-barred....
