Sens. Put Forth $6B Home Star Energy Savings Bill

Law360, New York (March 3, 2010, 3:55 PM EST) -- As part of an effort to save energy and create jobs, Sens. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M.; Mark Warner, D-Va.; Jeff Merkley, D-Ore.; and Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., have proposed a $6 billion incentive program for retrofits that would supplement energy efficiency and building programs already in place.

The four senators introduced draft legislation Tuesday for the Home Star program, which President Barack Obama has touted as a tool for both home energy conservation and job creation.
