Bill Would Allow Private Action For Trade Remedy

Arlen Specter, D-Pa., has proposed creating a private right of action for domestic manufacturers injured by illegal subsidization or dumping in U.S. markets, allowing companies to choose whether to pursue trade remedies through district courts or federal trade authorities.

Specter introduced S. 3080, the Unfair Foreign Competition Act of 2010, in the U.S. Senate on Thursday, joined by co-sponsors Bob Casey, D-Pa., and Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.
