Visto's Damages Doubled In Push E-mail Dispute

Law360 (December 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a financial boost for Visto Corp., a Texas federal court has awarded double damages plus costs and attorneys’ fees in its patent infringement case against rival messaging software company Seven Networks Inc.

The final judgment for $7.7 million was issued Tuesday by Judge John Ward in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The stiff penalty followed Visto’s successful claims of willful infringement.
