Inventor Retains Win In Suit Over Sulfur Test For Oil

Law360, New York (March 8, 2010, 2:47 PM EST) -- A Texas appeals court has affirmed $366,000 in awards to an inventor facing breach of contract and intellectual property claims over a test for sulfur content in petroleum, which he developed while working as a consultant for laboratory testing company Petroleum Analyzer Co. LP.

The Court of Appeals for the First District of Texas on Thursday affirmed judgments from a Harris County, Texas, trial court in favor of Franek Olstowski, as well as an arbitration ruling that found he controlled the so-called excimer lamp technology....
