EU Extends Review Of Cisco's Bid For Tandberg

Law360, New York (March 9, 2010, 12:58 PM EST) -- The European Commission on Tuesday extended the deadline for its review of Cisco Systems Inc.'s $3.4 billion bid to acquire Norwegian videoconferencing company Tandberg ASA after the communications giant submitted proposed antitrust remedies to the regulator.

Cisco's offer of first-phase commitments pushed the deadline forward 10 working days to March 29, according to the regulator's list of mergers under review.

Cisco confirmed that the deadline had been extended, but declined to comment further, and an EC spokeswomen also declined to comment on the extension Tuesday. A...
